Filling the Gap – Pakistan’s Brain Drain

It’s no secret that Pakistan’s educated middle class is feeling squeezed. What is more surprising is actually the impact this is having on business opportunities – The most surprising part is it is not only the middle class who is eager to run to the West. The sons and daughters of the industrial elite have been keen to persue their future outside of Pakistan, leaving behind their family businesses. 

The natural course this results in is established Industrial empires in decline. Why? When the young generation who bring a new energy, a new outlook to generational businesses

refuse to take the reigns, these businesses become uncompetitive and fall behind the times. To exaggerate this situation – the aspiring leaders of the middle class who can be the catapult to the change required are also leaving in droves. 

So what does that mean for us? It means there is a gap created by this brain drain that being on the ground in Pakistan, armed with the global playbook to leverage capital to capitalize on the opportunities this creates.
